Job Vacancy: London Development Manager for Enabling Enterprise

Enabling Enterprise are looking for a self-starter with an entrepreneurial outlook, comfortable working with students and presenting to school leaders. The ideal candidate would have successful teaching experience in a primary or secondary school in the UK, although we would be prepared to accept applications from other exceptional candidates.


Enabling Enterprise is an education-focused social enterprise, ensuring students leave school equipped with the skills, aspirations and experiences to succeed. We are winners of two national education awards, and a social enterprise award.


This is a key post in the development of Enabling Enterprise as we work towards our goal of working with 30,000 students across the UK by 2014. In the next academic year, we will be working with around 10,000 students across London, Birmingham, Manchester and Nottingham. We have recently received backing from the Young Foundation as well as our corporate supporters to expand rapidly.


This role, therefore, offers an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to take the lead in expanding our London operations as well as ensuring the schools we currently work with have an excellent experience. Terms & Conditions:
Salary: £24,000 subject to review in 12 months + Training Budget
Start Date: August 2011
Working hours: c. 40 hours per week
Holidays: 30 days per year
Contract length: 12 months, probationary period of 3 months
Key Responsibilities:


(1) Sales & Marketing
 Promoting Enabling Enterprise programmes in the London area
 Recruiting schools to take up our programmes to fulfil our ambitions to reach more students each year
 Supporting Enabling Enterprise in building up its national profile and communications
 

(2) Programme Delivery
 Ensuring top quality delivery of programmes to schools in the region
o Liaising with schools and teachers
o Organising and delivering teacher training
o Helping schools to adapt programmes to their requirements
o Organising and delivering student events in London
 Building strong partnerships with business supporters
 

(3) Regional Development
 Helping to build up a team in London
 Supporting grant applications to build EE’s regional and national presence
 Contributing to the development of new programmes


Key Skills and Attributes:
The key skills and attributes that will be required for this job are:
 A strong academic track-record, with a minimum 2:1 degree in any discipline
 An entrepreneurial outlook, able to identify new opportunities, adapt to changing circumstances and work flexibly in a small start-up team
 Excellent teaching experience, and confidence in working with young people, teachers and school leaders
 Excellent organisational skills, including organising events, coordinating arrangements with schools and businesses, and planning ahead
 Able to take responsibility for achieving organisational goals, particularly leading on engaging more schools in EE programmes
 Strong communication and people skills, including the ability to build and develop relationships with schools, businesses and other organisations in the region
